Investigateway.com.au is a private investigation portal offering facilities and services by Australian and international private investigators and agencies. This site started in 1997 (initially under a different domain) and has remained online continuously since then. We believe in making a contribution toward improving the standard of private investigation and a wider acceptance of private investigators in Australia as 'professionals' providing essential services in spheres far wider than insurance and liability. In the changing market for private investigators greater emphasis is developing in specialist areas, particularly IT and computer related crime and deceptive selling; and the practices and duties of corporation officers in an environment of take-overs and investigations by authorites.
Our principal's experience has developed from investigative practice since 1975 and the ongoing use, defence and application of the internet, computers and software in our daily work. Consequently our website seeks to promote and encourage private investigators to develop their understanding and skills in these key areas. This, we believe, will make them competitive and resilient, being able to offer new and better services.
In our operation of Investigateway.com.au we rely extensively on a wide network of regular visitors and their feedback, information from key sources such as investigators throughout Australia and also our ongoing actual use of the internet almost 24 hours per day.

This website is a labour of love and a committment by the owner to promote the best interests of private investigators; to improve standards and acceptance of private investigation as a profession in the market and to provide anyone access to information which otherwise can be difficult to find.
Help and advice is provided free of charge and any investigations leading from it are passed on, at no cost and without kick-backs, to investigators that are not connected through business with this website or its owner.
Privacy & Security of Data
The owner of this site is obsessive about privacy and the individual's right to be protected from unjust interference by anyone. This site continues to promote privacy and methods available to ensure private information remains private. Our Data Security section typically promotes PGP and other forms of encryption and firewalls.
The owner of this site maintains strictest security protocols including protecting computers with double firewalls, proxy server and PGP data encryption of all sensitive information be that our own or data about members. The owner has frequently pushed the need for private investigators to start using encryption software and maintaining proper security protocols.
In the course of selling memberships for our site we collect only two items of information from applicants, being their name and their email address. We do not have access to credit card details or personal address of any applicant or customer that pays by credit card.

Spamming
Our attitude is that spamming is a curse which must be eradicated. To this end the owner of this site devotes several hours each week tracing spammers and reporting them to spam list sites (black lists) with the ultimate objective of blocking the offenders' mail servers. On this website we have implemented several programs which frequently capture the special robots which crawl websites to extract email addresses. The end effect is that we are contributing to the corruption of many a spammer's databases rendering them worthless.
This website has a strict policy of not sharing any email addresses with anyone associated with spamming. All email addresses and names provided by our members are securely stored and encrypted.
Email addresses and URLs included in our thousands of links spread over hundreds of web pages (included also in the large PI Index section) can be extracted by spammers, using special robots. This problem is the same with any website because controlling robots is extremely difficult.
